The Garden Celebrates 27 Years Open

Can’t quite believe that today marks 27 years open to the public!

On the 1st of May 1997 the Japanese Garden in Cornwall was opened to the public for the first time.

I was 11 years old at the time and I held the ribbon at the entrance gate for two of my school friends to cut to officially open the garden.

27 years later and my husband Stuart and I have taken on the challenge of maintaining this beautiful place that my parents created.

Seeing the old photos and how small the trees and plants once were – it is mind blowing just how incredible nature is and how matured everything has become in that time.
