Its been a long time coming but we have finally had a few new trees arrive from Japan.

The last time we were able to buy Japanese grown Bonsai was before covid hit (our last delivery was in 2019) so its been wonderful to finally be able to get some new trees from Japan!

Japanese Bonsai is always of a high quality and since the pandemic the price of these sought after trees absolutely skyrocketed! To surreal prices.

Specimen trees in particular were unaffordable but even the smaller, less expensive stock became far too expensive. Now that things have settled down a bit and Japan has allowed sales to the UK to once again, we have had the opportunity to buy again from the region but prices are still higher than they were sadly.

Our delivery this time was just 19 trees, with about another 15 or so on back order which will arrive at the end of June/beginning of July when they are out of quarantine (primarily Junipers).

The trees that have arrived include:

  • a stunning satsuki azalea (we estimate at least 100 years old) –
  • a couple of beautiful, smaller azaleas
  • a few wisteria (purple ones and red ones)
  • a beautiful little Deshojo acer
  • a chocolate vine and
  • a selection of little cork-bark elms.

We have yet to repot them in to nice Bonsai pots to show them off but it is lovely to have some beautiful new trees in stock for anyone looking for a Japanese grown tree.

We have also been busy this week repotting and pruning our specimen trees – and rearranging them to fit our new azalea in!

And finally we had a delivery of some beautiful teak furniture recently and I’ve finally got a few nice pictures.
