As we approach the middle of October there are only 2 weeks left to come and visit us! (The 31st of October will be our last day open for the 2019 season).
Some of the Japanese Maples are now delivering some beautiful autumn colour; but we still have a ways to go before we hit the peak – I suspect we will only get the very best of the colour right before we close for the season (nature does love to keep us waiting 😂).
Autumn is my favourite time of year because of the rapid change that the garden experiences in such a short space of time. There is a feeling in the garden in this season that is different than any other time and it always makes me feel more emotional on my visits. The colours are always worth the wait when those acers change from their summer shades to the vibrant autumn pallet. The leaves fall continuously making the garden feel messier than other times of the year, which always feels like nature is taking back its hold on the garden.
The Koi carp have still been very active the last couple of weeks and still enjoying being fed a couple of times a day. They are looking absolutely stunning at the moment and soon they will be hiding in the deep water of the pond for winter and I will miss seeing them swim until spring time.
All the succulents have been brought inside now as the temperatures are going down and its been so wet and we are offering a BUY 3 GET 4th FREE for all you succulent lovers (like myself).
I can’t quite believe that we are nearing the end of the 2019 season and it won’t be long before we close our gates again. If you are hoping to visit us before we close – please make sure that you do so by the 31st October (as this is the last day open to the public for 2019).
We look forward to seeing you in the next couple of weeks!
