Just 9 days left to visit before we close our gates for the season!

Last day open 15th November 2023 – open daily at 10am – closing time is currently 5pm but with light levels dropping it may be slightly earlier so if you are wanting to visit I recommend arriving for last garden entry from 3.30pm to avoid disappointment for the final week.

With the storm leaving a cracked branch overhanging the gift shop earlier last week we had to remain closed for a day and opened late the following day once the branch had been safely removed. Luckily the garden was almost totally unscathed! Although the garden was littered with autumn leaves we were delighted to see we still had plenty of leaves on our trees after how hard the wind was blowing.

The autumn colours are now looking sensational in the garden and everywhere you look you can see the vivid autumn hues popping from the Japanese maples.

I grabbed my camera this morning before the gardeners got in to clear the leaves so the photos show a messier garden than usual.

If you are thinking of visiting before we close to the public I would say now is the time to come! There are still a few of the late-turning acers not yet peaking but the majority of the show stoppers are now looking sensational for colour.

The Osakazuki by the pond is almost at full red now.

The waterfall acer by the decking is now vivid magenta and the tea-house is surrounded by transforming colours too.

I personally wait all year to see the garden like this – nature is so incredible to give us such vibrant colours!
