May has been a wonderfully bright and sunny month this year! Wonderful for the plants and trees which have been growing with great enthusiasm.
Ive been well overdue a visit to the garden as I was poorly earlier this month but luckily I got to have a walk around yesterday and take some much needed pictures. I shot these at the peak of the day at around 1pm so the sun was high in the sky and there wasn’t a cloud to be seen!
The azaleas are showing off some gorgeous blooms now with so many varieties and colours. The white azaleas have now gone over sadly (so bummed I. missed those as they are my favourites!) but there are still plenty of buds to be seen so there’s more to come yet.
The Japanese maples are looking wonderful with over 100 varieties dotted around the garden; there is colour everywhere and the colours are still the vibrant spring hues although I suspect it won’t be long now before they turn to the summer shades.
The sunshine was blaring down casting strong shadows as I walked around the pathways and I found myself feeling like I was on holiday – a rare feeling for me! haha
There was lots of textures, smells and colours throughout the walk around the garden and it was wonderful to see so many of the plants growing so vigorously.
I love spring for the variety of colours and flowers and the maples just look so spectacular! People visiting seem so happy as the warm weather and much needed vitamin d is plentiful.
Spring always has a positive feeling and people react to this I think when they visit at this time of year.
I certainly do!
